response to; marriage is not on the agenda

Unfortunately, some people just can’t rap the simple notion that not every body wants to be married around their tiny little closed minded brains. They always assume there is some kind of fear/commitment phobia/ childhood trauma/ some-kind of psychobabble associated with this lifestyle preference, as if its a disability or an illness of some kind. People have been socialized, especially by Hollywood (and sometimes Bollywood), that you have to find ‘Mr. or Miss Perfect‘ or ‘Right’?(whatever his/her name is),’ get married, have babies, and live happily ever after. And if you don’t want to get married then you must be a ‘whore’ looking for an excuse to fuck around (but hey for those who get off on that I’m not judging you). Well, life is not a movie, you can’t pause it, rewind, replay, or fast-forward, that why we just all have to be true to ourselves. Stop trying to please people who care more about forcing their lifestyle choices on you than your well-being and happiness, they’re probably just trying to live vicariously through your life because they made shit-pits of their own lives.

I certainly don’t want to get married and its not because i think its ‘scary’ or that I’m waiting for ‘Mr. Right’, none of that. I’ve just always known since i was a little girl that i had a different calling in life and i wanted to be single. Not every little girl dreams of ‘white weddings, flowers and brides maids or plays pretend weddings with Ken and Barbie…some of us have different dreams and that’s just fine. We are such diverse human beings in such a diverse world and unless you live under a rock, think the earth is flat or see the world in black and white you should be able to see that diversity is just the beauty of it all. Society has to learn to except it one way or the other because its always been here and it ain’t going anywhere, ever!

Calm down! Oil ain’t going anywhere yet

We seriously need to refocus our attention…the catastrophe up ahead is not going to be running out of oil, do you forget humans survived fine without oil for hundreds of thousands of years before our oil addiction  (Industrial Revolution) started…our survival skills may be rusty and we may suffer from a little bit of withdrawal but eventually we’ll get back on track and do fine without oil. Our BIGGEST PROBLEM however is CARBON EMISSIONS. As long as we are burning oil our temperature will keep rising until we cook ourselves to death.

This is how it really work

There is still a substantial amount of oil in the earth, its just that United  States doesn’t have its hands on it right now, thus the war on Iraq and Afghanistan.  The Arab world however will be fine for oil for quite some time and so will China since  they are nearer and are not despised buy the Muslim nations…we don’t here anybody there panicking about oil shortage now do we? In fact China is on its way to become the next United States only bigger and stronger due their population which is 4 times greater than all of North American countries combined. Like it or not, whist us North Americans freeze and starve to death, the new ‘Capitalist King’ China will be living the ‘American Dream.’ Inevitably, just like in North America, that dream will be short-lived and China would eventually start to feel the heart. World temperatures would have doubled or even tripled and triggered a global calamity that would destroy any living organisms on earth. some micro organisms and bacteria may survive to start the evolution process all over again.

so fucking pissed

we are in deep shit and i’m pissed as hell!!! how did we get ourselves to this catastrophic point?

We are closer than we would like to imagine to a time where air travel, driving cars, and all lifes little pleasure that we so take for granted right now will come to an end. Yes, the end is near denial or no denial. There is nothing mythical about these facts anymore, any person of average intelligence can see all the signs around us. Everyday we consume more oil than we can pump out of the earth and we’ve long reached our oil peak. Our world leaders are fighting over the last of it right now; the war in iraq, afganistan…don’t get me started. As much as we hate it we have to face it someday, why not start now?

wake the fuck up!

placelessness; a product of capitalist globilization and modern techonlogy

hi world,
i would like to discuss the diffusion of placelessnesses in the developed world its causes, effects and solutions. Placenessness is a term coined best by James Howard Kunstler, author of ‘The Geography of Nothingness’. He denounces “America’s transformation from a nation of vital places and communities to a land where everyplace is like no place in particular.”

You might know this better as suburban sprawl, (eg malls, Mc D’s, wallmarts…) or as Kunstler so elaborately puts it in this enlightening youtube video, ‘The Tragedy of Suburbia,’ as ”the greatest mis-allocation of resources in the history of the world.”

please check out the links and feel free to drop a comment with your opinions on the topic.

American Dream vs. American Reality

hi world,

this is my first time blogging on word-press and this is the very first post. i am excited about this as i have so many important things to share with you here and I’m sure you have much to share with me too.

wow, this world is becoming smaller and smaller every day as information and innovations speed along on their way into our lives. I’m sure many people share the same feelings or are even overwhelmed by the speed of things. well i say get used to it, we’re in the information revolution and i don’t believe its even reached its peak yet. i can’t imagine a life without it all, is that a good thing or a bad thing? seriously, try to think about what would become of you if you woke up one day and it was all gone? no cell phones, computers, electricity, plumbing, tap water, cars, buses…let me know what you would do to survive?
